Credits & Refunds
Version 2026-11-01 · Effective 1 November 2026 · Part of our Terms of Service
How credits work
- Credits pay for AI writing, AI pictures and building export files. You buy them in packs: Starter 100 credits for $12, Author 500 for $60, Studio 1,500 for $180 (prices may change; the price at checkout is what you pay).
- Every paid step is quoted before it starts. You see the number of credits, confirm, and that is the most you'll be charged for that step.
- Credits are reserved when a step starts and kept when it succeeds. If a step fails, its credits come back to your balance automatically. If a provider times out and we can't tell whether the work happened, the credits are held until we check, then either returned or kept.
- A finished step that you retry (for example after your phone slept) isn't charged again.
- Redraws, extra versions and new attempts you choose to make are new steps with their own quote, even if you didn't like the first result.
- Credits don't expire while your account is open. They have no cash value, can't be transferred to another account, and are used oldest purchase first.
Refunds for credit packs
- Unused packs: if you haven't used any credits from a pack, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of buying it.
- Partly used packs: within 14 days we'll refund the unused part, in proportion to the price you paid (for example, 40 unused credits from a 100-credit $12 pack = $4.80).
- Used credits aren't refundable, because the AI work has already been paid for, unless something went wrong on our side (see below).
- Our mistakes: if a charged step clearly didn't work because of a fault in our app (not because you disliked the AI's creative result), tell us within 30 days and we'll return the credits.
- Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe and usually arrive in 5–10 business days. The refunded credits are removed from your balance.
Printed copies
- You approve the price (printing, shipping, tax and our service fee) before paying.
- Cancellations: once an order is sent to the printer it usually can't be cancelled. Email us right away and we'll try; if the printer accepts the cancellation, we'll refund you in full.
- Damaged or misprinted copies: email us within 30 days of delivery with photos, and we'll arrange a reprint or refund. This covers printing and shipping faults, not problems that were already visible in the files you approved (such as typos or picture choices).
- Lost parcels: if tracking shows no delivery after the estimated date, contact us and we'll work with the printer and carrier on a replacement or refund.
- Print quality depends on your files; check the printed-page preview before ordering.
Disputes and chargebacks
- Please contact us first; we can usually fix problems faster than a bank dispute.
- If a payment is disputed with your bank, the credits from that purchase are held and purchases and AI work on the account are paused until the dispute is resolved. If the dispute is decided in your favour, the held credits are removed for good. If it's decided in ours, they're released back to you.
- If credits from a refunded or disputed payment were already spent, the account stays paused until we've reviewed it with you.
Publishing results
We can't refund credits because a retailer (such as Amazon KDP) rejected, delayed or delisted a book, or because a book didn't sell. Retailers make those decisions under their own rules.
How to ask
